News article on SOMEONE DYING FROM THEIR FIRST BINGE AND PURGE

THEIR FIRST! So don't think you can do it once or get away with it. She did and look where it got her! Oh god it is disgusting. Oh and just a random tip to not eating, remember that that not eating before doing a load of exercises HELPS YOU BURN EVEN MORE! Okay tip over, now its time for that news story I'm gonna copy and paste.

"Take notice of her position, the discolouring of her limbs and her stomach.

She was 19 and had anorexia and bulimia for 5 years.

Died at 5' 1" (155cm) and 94 lbs (43kg) after her stomach ripped after eating 5.6 liters (pic of stomach contents) of food.

Case notes:
She was in full rigor mortis - which is present from 12-72 hours. The bruises set the time frame at around 8+ hours.

Her eyes had clouded, which happens at progressively from about 2 -4 hours on.

If you look really closely at her stomach, you can see a greenish tint, which is a typical sign of her internal organs decaying - called livor mortis. I think this process may have been accelerated as her insides were digested since it normally takes a few days to set in.

The bruises called for the autopsy. Because of her position when her stomach exploded, it spilled all its contents into her body cavity. The blood and food settled around her anus and vagina and caused what looked like "fresh bruises." So to rule out sexual [assault, etc.], they had to autopsy.

When they did the autopsy, they found that her stomach had been extended from where your ribs meet each other all the way to her pubic bone, right behind that pad of fat above the genitals (mons pubis). And her stomach had a large rip in it...

She also had some other abnormalities going on. Her heart was small and displayed typical characteristics of a bulimic heart - destroyed muscles and dead immune cells (lipofuscin bodies).

Her brain had swelled, my guess due to the massive increase in blood flow after her stomach ruptured - it had started to squeeze out her skull before she died.

She also had evidence of focal pneumonia in her lungs - not really surprising as binging hurts the immune response to viruses.

Like a typical binger, her stomach was dying before it ripped. What I mean is that every time we binge our stomachs expand, if they expand far enough, the vessels supplying them blood are crushed - cutting off the blood supply to that area, killing the tissue. That area is weakened and the next binge of that caliber becomes more dangerous. Purging just adds fuel to the fire by increasing stomach pressure above and beyond the natural level.

But believe it or not the ruptured stomach didn't kill her. A natural reaction did.
When the stomach exploded, her body responded with a typical immune reaction. It dilated her blood vessels, her blood pressure dropped, she blacked out, and her heart slowed down and stopped. They also did a tox screen and found nothing. Potassium levels are obviously of no use as when you die potassium leaks out of your cells.

"...her stomach ripped after eating 5.6 liters [picture above] of food."

Another things to note about this. Back in the 1800s, they determined that the stomach should only be able to hold 4 liters of stuff (by filling corpses). To surpass this, we have to adapt our stomach sizes - resulting in gastric dilatation.

Ruptures via overfilling the stomach appear along the lesser curvature of the stomach, whereas vomiting induced ruptures normally occur along the greater curvature and fundus (the top of the stomach) - it's unusual that her stomach ripped how it did, right down the front.

Apart from the intellectual value of the report it does illustrate an important point - the endpoint of these diseases is very ugly.

There is no glamour or beauty spending your last living moments over a toilet."

Okay, this is just kind of gross...sorry if anyone puked

Calorie Burning Tips

Well, I've decided to stop with that bulimic thing for now *shudder* and decided to focus on other things. Right now this week I am going to set myself a goal of not eating over 800 calories this week, I hope I can. I can do it this week because my braces you know. So, to keep my seriously motivated I'm going to post a whole load of thinpirational pics
Oh and before I start here are some tips on burning calories.
Take vitamin D Women who were deficient in it lost weight more slowly in a study in the British Journal of Nutrition. Stephen Gullo, a weight-loss expert in New York City and author of "The Thin Commandments" (Rodale), recommends 2,000 milligrams daily.
Drink coffee Studies have found that caffeine increases the rate at which you burn calories, according to Susan B. Roberts, author of "The 'I' Diet" (Workman) and a professor of nutrition and psychiatry at Tufts University in Boston. Sleep more Getting fewer than four hours of sleep over an extended period of time slows the metabolism. Experts recommend aiming for between seven and nine.
Wear a pendamometor or a device thingy that tracks how many steps you take "Every week, aim to take a few more steps than you did the last week," says Wheelock. Do things by hand Wash your dishes, vacuum, or cook dinner. "We consider it a luxury to have tasks done for us, but doing some of these for yourself takes considerable energy," says Slayton.
"Eat lightly and oftenFor most people, the body uses up more energy digesting smaller meals every few hours than by eating the same number of calories in two or three sittings," says Chrissy Wellington, a nutritionist at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Move briskly "Walk like you're late for a meeting," says Gunnar Peterson, who trains Jennifer Lopez in Los Angeles.
Laugh "It burns up to 50 calories if you laugh for 10 to 15 minutes per day," says Adelino Da Costa, owner of Punch Fitness Center in New York City.
Eat breakfast "You sendyour a signal that you're not starving, so it starts burning fat — even when you're just doing normal activities," says Peterson. He suggests eating scrambled egg whites or oatmeal with fruit. I suggest a cup of plain tea (no sugar/milk etc, 2 calories) or/and a couple of spoonfuls of yoghurt.
Time yourself Spend the last five minutes of each hour (set your computer timer) up and moving around, says Kristin McGee, a New York City yoga and Pilates instructor.
Go out of your way At work, take the long way to the restroom — or even go up one flight of stairs.
Fidget You can burn up to 350 more calories a day than someone who remains stationary, according to a study at the Mayo Clinic. The impulse to fidget may be hardwired, but nonfidgeters can imitate it: Tap your feet, pace, or move restlessly in your seat.
Stash flats in your bag "My clients aren't going to slip on sneakers to go home, but there is a happy medium," says Slayton. "You might not run a marathon in ballet slippers, but at least you can move quickly."
Don't eat late at night It can interrupt sleep, according to Wellington, and may induce you to skip breakfast — bad for your metabolism.
Straighten up "Good posture not only makes you look taller and leaner, but it strengthens your abdominal muscles," says Brooklyn Decker, the model on the cover of this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
Drink more Dehydrated people experience a drop in their metabolic rate. Drinking water throughout the day caused metabolic rates to increase by about 30 percent in a German study. The goal: eight cups a day.
Beware of sugar
It triggers the body to release insulin, which then either transplants sugar to the cells to be used as energy — or stored as fat, according to Jorge Cruise, author of "The Belly Fat Cure" (Hay House).
Squat When you pick up something from the floor, keep your back straight and bend at the knees, not the waist. "This protects your back and tones your legs," says Peterson.
Chew gum It burns a few calories — and it keeps you from mindlessly grazing, especially when you're cooking, says McGee.
Sleep better A poor night's sleep causes people to chose less-nutritious foods, according to a study at the University of Pennsylvania. Another study showed that sleep-deprived people simply move less.
Walk and talk Don't sit still when you take a phone call. At work, wear a headset.
Switch sides Whether you're carrying a heavy bag on your shoulder or a child on your hip, "swapping sides every five minutes works more muscles," says Peterson.
 Pick up the pace
Listen to fast songs, such as "Closer" by Ne-Yo, says Ruth Zukerman, co-owner of Flywheel Sports, a cycling studio in New York City. "The beat forces you to keep a calorie-burning pace, especially when walking or taking stairs."
Cook your own food
"It's often healthier and by the time you've made a meal and cleaned up, you've been on your feet a half-hour more than you would have waiting for takeout," says Slayton.
Avoid eating lunch at your desk If you must, then go for a short walk.
Wear stilettos "Every few days, I'll wear the highest heels I own," says Decker. "It helps tone my legs, because they work different muscles in my calves and thighs."
 Relax
Stress causes the body to release cortisol, which causes more calories to be stored as fat, especially in your abdomen.
Watch less television
Adults who halved their television viewing time (by using an electronic lock-out system) not only burned an extra 119 calories per day, but did so without altering what they ate.
 Lift up
Rise up on the balls of your feet and then lower yourself down again. "I do this little Pilates move everywhere," says McGee.
 Build up your abs
Do intense bursts of engaging your abs tightly. If you think you can only do 30 seconds, push for 40, says Da Costa.
Drink a few cups of strong green tea every day
In addition to caffeine, green tea contains catechin polyphenols, plant chemicals that may also boost metabolism, according to a study from the University of Geneva in Switzerland.
 Heat things up
"Some studies show that spicy food can temporarily increase metabolism," says Slayton. Try red pepper flakes on salad.
Work your legs a bit
"If I'm stuck in a seat, I do small knee lifts, almost like I'm marching in place," says McGee.
 Eat salmon
Salmon eaters lost significantly more weight than beef eaters in a study, even though the calories consumed were equal.
Pop a pill
People taking supplements with glutamine after meals burned an average of 20 more calories than those taking a placebo in a study at Iowa State University in Ames.
 Eat the peel
"It takes the body more energy to break down fibre rich foods, like the skins of fruits and vegetables," says Wellington.
Go coconuts
People who replace oils and fats like animal fats and sunflower oil with those containing medium-chain fatty acids, such as coconut oil, lose more body fat.
Drink oolong tea
Gullo suggests this to his clients because some studies have shown it can increase metabolic activity by as much as 10 percent.
Don't snack in the car
Experts say it's a hotbed of mindless eating and excess calorie consumption.
 Swing your arms
"The more parts of your body that you use simultaneously, the more you burn," says Zukerman.
Clean up
When you're wiping down the counter or washing the car, really stretch out, says Peterson. "Use both hands and make large circular motions, like you're the Karate Kid."
 Buy some crackers
"High-fiber, low-starch foods, such as GG Crispbreads, create a film on the intestinal lining that blocks the absorption of other calories," says Gullo.
Sit up
When watching TV, "get in the habit of holding your body straight," says Slayton.
                             Don't forget dairy

Colours and appetite

The psychology of colour can influence EVERYTHING from our blood pressure to our mood and overall experience. Colour and our appetite for foods are closely related and can affect our perception of taste. So which colours can whet your appetite? And more importantly for those looking at losing weight, what colours can suppress your appetite?
Red. A very intense and energetic colour  red increases blood pressure and stimulates appetite. Ever notice why many restaurants paint their walls a dark red?
Blue. The colour blue is associated with the mind and body and can produce a calming effect while slowing the metabolism. Blue is often used as an appetite suppressant so if you run a restaurant, consider painting it red! If you're dieting, put lots of blue in your kitchen and dining room from blue plates, blue candles, and blue placemats.

Green. The beauty of nature in shades of green, green is a calming and relaxing colour  The colour green is associated with being healthy and in nature.

Grey. A great colour to suppress your appetite, grey calms and neutralizes anxiety which results in you eating less food.

Orange. Not only does orange increase oxygen supply to the brain, it stimulates us mentally and is invigorating. It's a warm, soothing colour that also stimulates appetite.
Turquoise. A tasty colour that stimulates your appetite, colour your kitchen turquoise if you're looking at beefing up.
Yellow. Cheery and uplifting, yellow can help with focus and concentration. Ever wonder why Post-It notes are yellow? Coincidence? Yellow is related to happiness and it can also stimulate your appetite.
Ever wondered why many of us doesn't like eating greens?
Here is a picture of some celery  Celery is brilliant because it actually BURNS CALORIES WHEN YOU EAT IT. Seriously it is burning calories...eating? How great is that? Don't make it into a juice though, because then it will just be putting calories into your body.

well, i got braces

BUT it is helping because it means I can't binge anymore or eat normal dinners like my parents feed me. Also they believe you when you say you don't feel well and skip meals. The main reason why I can't eat much, even if I really wanted to is because  my teeth hurt too much. And when my braces get off,  will have beautiful teeth.
Braces are so worth it.
I'm just going to leave another pic of Dalia as thinspiration, as you can guess she is my FAVOURITE model!
